Teddy was a Percheron Gelding. He came to us at the ripe old age of 27. His owners walked him to the Lancaster Shelter. He remained there a year. No interest in this huge draft horse with medical problems. We could not let him die in the shelter, so we took him in. Anticipating him only living a short while in his condition, we wanted his last days to be filled with love and food. 5 years later we had to make the most difficult decision to humanely euthanize him June 21, 2014, due to his extreme arthritis and pain, at the recommendation of our vet. Teddy will be missed by both his heard mates and his humans.
